How to choose and shop?

Selection:  Different varieties of milk are available today, and you can choose between condensed and condensed milk. When shopping, always make sure you buy milk and cream towards the end, so they stay cold for as long as possible. In addition, choose your milk from the coldest part of the refrigerator case, which is mainly the lower section. Smell the top of the container to make sure the milk is fresh and does not smell of spoilage, which is usually caused in storage for the period outside the refrigerator. Avoid the cans or containers that are swollen or dings. Always check the expiry date given on the container as it gives the indication of the shelf life of milk.

Once the package is opened, the best before date will no longer apply and shelf life will depend on how the milk has been stored and handled by the consumer. The pasteurization (heating the milk quickly, keeping it for a short time and then fast cooling) eliminates most of the bacteria from the milk and cream. The remaining bacteria are harmless, which can slowly multiply at cooling temperature, eventually causing spoilage. Therefore, the milk should be kept as cold as possible. In fine weather, an insulated cooler with ice cream to keep milk, cream and other perishables cold on the way home. For optimal quality and safety, it is advisable to use the milk in the best before date.

Storage:  Milk is very perishable in nature and therefore proper storage is crucial to prevent spoilage. Both condensed and condensed milk should be refrigerated after opening the package, as a higher temperature can make it too acidic quickly. Be sure to seal or discard the milk container if it is stored so that it does not absorb the flavors of other foods in the refrigerator. Saving milk should be avoided on the refrigerator door as it releases the milk every time the refrigerator is opened or closed in heat.

Refrigerator temperature should be checked regularly. It should record 4 C (40 F) or lower. Condensed milk usually lasts longer than milk evaporates after opening because it has high sugar content. Both should be used within 5 to 7 days after opening. As the milk solids settle to the bottom, the doses should be turned the head within 6 months every few weeks and used. Avoid freezing milk evaporates as the milk solids separate from the water when thawed and even shaking or stirring can not homogenize back to its original texture.
