The holiday is imminent and you have done your best to get in shape. But how are you going to keep that up when you’re on vacation? It is not as difficult as it may seem. My tips of what you absolutely must not do and what so certainly I share with you in this blog.

Do not use the facilities that the resort has to offer.

Have you opted for a relaxed holiday with a stay in a luxury resort? Awesome! Everything is arranged here for you. You can spend the day relaxing by the pool, eating and drinking a little and enjoying your free time. But you did not book all-inclusive just to eat yourself completely? Make proper use of all facilities. Go into the gym of the hotel once during your stay. Usually in the mornings it is nice and quiet and you can go about undisturbed. After that work out, you are smug at breakfast and guaranteed that you choose the healthy options at the buffet. However, most resorts have more to offer than just the gym. The entertainment team is not just for the little ones if you think so. Jump into the pool and join in with that aqua aerobics class!

Going to the beach only for that beautiful tan.

A beach holiday in a sunny location is wonderful to recover from a year of hard work. The best thing is to get your bikini out immediately after arrival and then plop down on the beach bed. So … you do not intend to get away from it for now! There are a lot more fun things to do on and on the beach. Do you want a little bit of exercise but do not feel like sweating yourself? Then walk a long stretch along the water. Especially at sunrise and sunset that is wonderful to do. It is less warm at these times of the day and it also gives you a few beautiful photos. Yoga classes are offered daily on more and more beaches. Often you can take a lesson for a small contribution. Wonderful to go all the way through the holiday? Are you more in for something active, then take surfing lessons. You are active, you learn something new and that tan comes naturally!

Pay for the hop-on bus through the city holiday.

In most large and tourist cities you can see them passing by, the hop-on buses. You buy a ticket for one or more days and you are driven along the highlights of the city. You step in and out whenever you want. Nice and easy way to discover the city right? You can also discover most cities in a more fun and active way. Rent a bike and get on! If you go by bike through the city you often see a lot more and come to places where you would not come by bus. You get a much more complete picture of the city and make contact with the local population faster. Because you will definitely have to ask for directions! Bike at your own pace and take a break when you feel like it. Tip: do some shopping yourself, fill your picnic basket or backpack and lunch in a nice park that you encounter during your bike tour.

Take the cable car to the mountain peaks or higher must sees.

If you spend your holiday in an area with more nature then you are more likely to be more active. But also during a holiday in the mountains or beautiful nature reserves there are more and more reasons not to be active. Almost every mountain top can be reached by a train or cable car. Nice and easy, you step in and upstairs you walk around and enjoy the views. You might even make a selfie to proudly show your friends that you are on top of the top. Believe me, you will gain more satisfaction if you choose to go up on your own. Put on your sportswear and hike up that mountain! Enjoy all the beautiful views and take a cooling dip in one of the mountain lakes that you encounter. Enjoying the freedom and the outdoors is still much nicer than being crammed in the cabin of the cable car? If you arrive at the top after a few hours of walking, you have had a great workout. Reward yourself by taking the train or the cable car down!

As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities to get your holiday fit. Choose a fun activity during the day, do not eat (every day) super full and you will see that you can keep that shape for which you have worked hard during your holiday.
